Pitman Arm: Part # CA50
1. Remove the cotter pin & loosen the nut on the drag link at the end by the pitman arm. Remove
the nut & lower the drag link out of the way. Loosen & remove the pitman arm cross bolt. Remove
the pitman arm from the output shaft of the steering sector & replace with the new Skyjacker
dropped pitman arm. Install the cross bolt through the pitman arm & torque to a minimum torque
of 175 pounds. 2. Reinstall the drag link onto the pitman arm. Place the nut on the tie rod end,
tighten & install the cotter pin.
3. To adjust the drag link (if needed), loosen the clamps, drive the vehicle back & forth in a straight
line. This will center the steering box. Turn the drag link adjusting sleeve until the steering wheel
is straight & tighten the clamp nuts. Recheck all hardware after approximately 50 miles &
periodically there after. Note: The cross bolt on the pitman arm must be tight.
Steering Arm: Part # CA100
1. Remove the cotter pin & loosen the nut on the drag link at the steering arm. Remove the nut &
lower the drag link out of the way. Loosen & remove the three nuts that attach the steering arm to
the steering knuckle. To loosen the cone washer around the three studs, use a hammer to strike
the steering arm at the end where the drag link was attached. Unscrew & remove the cone
washers.
2. Remove the OEM steering arm & replace with the new Skyjacker arm. Reinstall & tighten the
cone washers & nuts. Reinstall the drag link on to the steering arm. Place the nut on the tie rod
end, tighten & install the cotter pin.
3. To adjust the drag link (if needed), loosen the clamps, drive the vehicle back & forth in a straight
line. This will center the steering box. Turn the drag link adjusting sleeve until the steering wheel
is straight, then tighten the clamp nuts. Recheck all hardware after approximately 50 miles &
periodically there after. Note: The bolts on the steering arm must remain tight.
